The Italian authorities have taken the drastic measure of shutting off the entire northern Italian region of Lombardy, home to about 16 million people, in a bid to halt the ongoing coronavirus epidemic in the Mediterranean country. أعلنت السلطات الصحية الإيطالية تسجيل 454 وفاة جديدة بفيروس كورونا المستجد، في تراجع ملحوظ للمعدل اليومي، مع تراجع وتيرة زيادة أعداد الإصابات بالمرض.
وقال مدير مكتب الحماية المدنية الإيطالي، أنجيلو بوريلي، في تصريح صحافي: “إن عدد المتوفين في إيطاليا جراء كورونا ارتفع خلال الساعات الـ24 الماضية بواقع 454 حالة، بينما بلغ هذا المعدل 433 في الإحصائية السابقة”.
وأكدت وكالة الحماية المدنية أن حصيلة ضحايا الوباء في إيطاليا بلغت 24114 شخصا، فيما ارتفع إجمالي عدد الإصابات بكورونا إلى 181228 بتسجيل 2256 حالة جديدة خلال آخر 24 ساعة، ما يمثل انخفاضا مقارنة مع معدلات الأيام السابقة.
