نفى المتحدث باسم مجلس الأمن القومي الأميركي جون كيربي، ما تم تداوله عن عملية إجلاء جارية لموظفي السفارة الأميركية في العاصمة العراقية في بغداد.
وقال كيربي إن “التقارير عن الاضطرابات في العراق مقلقة”، مشددا على أن “الوقت في العراق قد حان للحوار وليس المواجهة”.
وأكد أنه “لا يجب تعريض استقرار العراق للخطر”، مبينا أن التقارير التي تتحدث عن إجلاء موظفي السفارة في العراق “غير صحيحة.. حاليا هناك اضطرابات والمؤسسات العراقية ممنوعة من العمل”.
