أعلن مكتب رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو أنّ نتنياهو ووزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي، يسرائيل كاتس أجريا اليوم الاربعاء جولة ميدانية في جنوب سوريا.
وفي السياق نفسه، ذكرت هيئة البثّ الإسرائيلية أنّ الزيارة تأتي في ظل الجهود الأميركية المبذولة للتوصل إلى اتفاقية أمنية بين إسرائيل وسوريا، في خطوة تُعدّ مؤشراً على حراك دبلوماسي متسارع في المنطقة.
بدوره، قال نتنياهو: “نُولي أهمية لحماية حلفائنا الدروز”.
وأضاف: “مهمة الدفاع عن حدود إسرائيل المقابلة للجولان قد تتطور في أي لحظة”.
